Role Description GSG LAW is looking for a driven Criminal Lawyer with 2?3 years of experience to join our growing team in Surrey, BC. This is a full-time, hybrid role with the opportunity for partial remote work. You will manage a caseload of criminal matters from initial consultation through resolution ? appearing in court, advising clients, negotiating with Crown counsel, and building case strategy. This is a great opportunity for a self-motivated lawyer who wants real file ownership and the support of a collaborative, entrepreneurial firm. Key Responsibilities * Represent clients at all stages of criminal proceedings, from bail hearings through trial * Provide clear, practical legal advice to clients navigating the criminal justice system * Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, briefs, and other court documents * Negotiate with Crown counsel to pursue favourable resolutions, including plea negotiations and sentencing submissions * Manage an active caseload independently, prioritizing deadlines and court dates * Maintain strong, trust-based relationships with clients throughout their matters * Collaborate with colleagues across the firm's practice areas as needed Qualifications * Called to the bar in British Columbia and in good standing with the Law Society of BC * 2?3 years of experience practising criminal law, including courtroom advocacy * Strong understanding of criminal procedure, the Criminal Code, and related case law * Confident, effective negotiator with sound judgment under pressure * Ability to manage a busy, varied caseload independently * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, in-office and remotely * Experience with bail hearings, judicial interim release, and/or trial advocacy is an asset What GSG LAW Offers * A collaborative, fast-growing boutique firm with a genuine mentorship culture * Autonomy and file ownership from day one * Hybrid work flexibility * Competitive compensation commensurate with experience To Apply Please submit your cover letter and resume in confidence to info@gsglawyers.ca Job Type: Full-time Pay: $99,000.00-$200,000.00 per year Benefits: * Flexible schedule * Work from home Application question(s): * Please include your availability for a follow-up interview.
