Cyber Security Analyst

Role Description The Cyber Security Analyst is a full-time, on-site role based in Anchorage, AK. This role is responsible for monitoring and securing networks, systems, and applications against cyber threats, including analyzing logs, alerts, and incidents to identify vulnerabilities and suspicious activity. The analyst will perform malware analysis, assess application and network security configurations, and support the implementation of security controls, tools, and policies. Daily responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, assisting with security audits, documenting findings and remediation steps, and collaborating with IT teams to improve security posture. The role also involves staying current on emerging threats, recommending enhancements to security architecture, and contributing to incident response and recovery efforts. Qualifications Must be located in Anchorage, Alaska or surrounding area Candidates should possess strong cybersecurity knowledge, including experience with threat detection, vulnerability assessment, and security best practices. Candidates should possess application security skills, such as secure coding principles, application hardening, and reviewing software for security weaknesses. Candidates should possess network security skills, including firewall configuration, intrusion detection/prevention, and secure network architecture. Candidates should possess malware analysis and incident response skills, including investigating malicious activity and supporting remediation efforts. Candidates should possess analytical skills, including the ability to interpret complex technical data, prioritize risks, and make sound recommendations. Relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, CEH, CISSP, GSEC) are beneficial. Experience with SIEM tools, endpoint protection platforms, and vulnerability management solutions is preferred. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
