Cybersecurity Analyst
Description
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Analyst to protect the organization's systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. The ideal candidate will monitor security events, identify vulnerabilities, investigate incidents, and implement security controls to maintain a secure IT environment. This is a fully remote position requiring strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to cybersecurity. Key Responsibilities: Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM and security monitoring tools Investigate, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity incidents in a timely manner Conduct vulnerability assessments and support remediation efforts Monitor network traffic and identify suspicious or malicious activity Implement and maintain security controls, policies, and best practices Perform risk assessments and recommend security improvements Collaborate with IT, DevOps, and engineering teams to strengthen security posture Assist with endpoint protection, identity and access management (IAM), and data protection initiatives Maintain security documentation, incident reports, and compliance records Support security awareness training and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field 2–5 years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or security operations Knowledge of network security, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, endpoint security, and SIEM platforms Experience with security tools such as Microsoft Defender, Splunk, Sentinel, CrowdStrike, Qualys, or Tenable Understanding of security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, or SOC 2 Familiarity with Windows, Linux, cloud security, and networking concepts Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and incident response skills Excellent communication and documentation abilities Ability to work independently in a remote environment Preferred Qualifications: Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CEH, CISSP, GIAC, or equivalent Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud security Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash Experience with vulnerability management, penetration testing, or threat intelligence Familiarity with compliance standards such as HIPAA, PCI DSS, GDPR, or CCPA
