Data & AI Platform Engineer

Job Summary (Senior Data & AI Platform Engineer Amtrak, Washington DC): Architect and scale a unified, self-service Data & AI platform using Databricks lakehouse architecture. Integrate Databricks, SAP (Datasphere/S/4), and Denodo virtualization into a governed data ecosystem. Lead the development and implementation of complex data pipelines, feature stores, and API-driven integrations to support enterprise analytics and digital experiences. Design and implement MLOps pipelines with CI/CD, versioning, and monitoring for robust model deployment. Establish and enforce technical standards for data ingestion, transformation, and governance-as-code. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers; foster a culture of engineering excellence. Collaborate with architects, product owners, and governance leads to ensure alignment with the enterprise data roadmap. Utilize advanced Python, SQL, Apache Spark, and modern lakehouse architectures (Databricks preferred). Apply expertise in MLOps, feature stores, semantic layers, and API/event-driven architectures. Work in a scaled Agile environment, demonstrating leadership and strong communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders. Show more Show less
