Description

Representative Duties: - Collaborate with beamline scientists to develop and implement data analysis and machine learning algorithms for diffraction, spectroscopy, imaging, and other beamline techniques.- Provide the CLSI user community with robust and curated data-analysis workflows to maximize scientific output.- Analyze large and complex datasets from synchrotron beamlines using Python or other relevant programming languages.- Develop and maintain data processing pipelines for integration, reduction, and quality assurance.- Work closely with beamline teams to optimize data acquisition, processing protocols, and data quality.- Develop and maintain or adopt data visualization tools to effectively communicate analytical results.- Stay current with emerging data analysis and machine learning techniques and apply them to improve research outcomes. Education:- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field is required.- Masters degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Bioinformatics, or a related discipline with a focus on scientific data analysis and machine learning is not required but would be an asset. Experience:- Minimum of 3 years of experience developing and implementing data analysis and machine learning algorithms using Python or other relevant languages; - OR a minimum of 2 years of directly related experience with a Masters degree;- OR a minimum of 1 year of related experience with a recently completed Ph.D.- Demonstrated experience working with large, complex scientific datasets is considered an asset. Skills & Competencies:- Strong programming skills in Python or comparable languages.- Experience with data analysis, machine learning, and scientific computing.- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
