We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to manage, optimize, and secure mission-critical database environments. Job Summary As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, performance tuning, backup, recovery, and security of enterprise database systems. You will collaborate with software engineers, cloud engineers, and infrastructure teams to ensure high availability, reliability, and optimal database performance. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, administer, and maintain enterprise database systems. Monitor database performance and optimize queries, indexes, and system resources. Perform database backup, recovery, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity testing. Implement database security, user access controls, encryption, and compliance standards. Manage database availability, replication, clustering, and high-availability solutions. Troubleshoot database performance issues and resolve production incidents. Support application development teams with schema design, database optimization, and SQL tuning. Automate routine administrative tasks using scripting and monitoring tools. Perform database upgrades, migrations, and patch management. Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and operational procedures. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field. 3+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or Database Engineer. Strong experience with one or more database platforms, including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB. Advanced knowledge of SQL, database performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization. Experience with backup and recovery strategies, replication, and high-availability configurations. Familiarity with Linux and Windows Server environments. Experience with database monitoring and troubleshooting tools. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with cloud database services such as Amazon RDS, Amazon Aurora, Azure SQL Database, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, or Google Cloud SQL. Knowledge of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or Redis. Experience with database automation using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages. Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code. Understanding of data governance, compliance, and security standards.
