Dentist - General Duty

Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval - award amount (up to $200 -000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply. Duties VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package The general practice dental officer serves as a practicing dentist who performs a full range of professional dental procedures in connection with the treatment of commonly encountered dental diseases or dental health problems requiring standard corrective - restorative - or preventive measures The general practice dental officer shall be proficient in all aspects of general dentistry including the ability to perform selected specialty services Specifically - the provider should possess the expertise and competency to perform the following:' Make oral and radiographic examinations or irregular oral conditions Diagnose pathological or irregular oral conditions Administer local anesthesia Perform routine and complex restoration of teeth Perform simple and complex extractions of teeth Perform alveoloplasty and other routine surgical procedures Perform prosthetic dentistry to include immediate dentures - full dentures - partial dentures - crowns - and fixed bridge work Perform routine endodontic procedures on single and multi-canal teeth Perform routine and surgical periodontal procedures The scope of practice that a specific provider may perform is defined through the medical center credentialing and privileging process Work Schedule: Monday through Friday - 730am to 4pm EDRP Authorized: This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment Program Approval - award amount (up to $200 -000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply Learn more
