About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled DevSecOps Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This role is instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and efficient DevSecOps pipelines and infrastructure. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to support our cloud-based platforms, primarily focusing on AWS and Salesforce environments. You will be responsible for ensuring the security, reliability, and scalability of our systems while automating operational tasks and enhancing observability across our platforms. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge cloud solutions, contribute to security best practices, and support the continuous improvement of our deployment processes. Please note that this position is contingent upon contract award, and candidates must pass public trust clearance requirements. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise, industry certifications, and relevant experience, including: A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. At least 8 years of hands-on experience in DevSecOps, with a focus on AWS cloud architectures, CI/CD pipelines, security tools, and log aggregation. Proficiency with AWS services, including serverless and application management, S3 access, and configuration. Strong experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and configuration management with Ansible. Expertise in scripting languages like Python, Bash, and PowerShell to automate operational tasks. Experience with security scanning tools such as Snyk, Nessus, BurpSuite, OWASP ZAP, and AWS Security Hub. Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, New Relic, AWS CloudWatch, or Dynatrace. Knowledge of container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes and service mesh tooling is a plus. Ability to perform root-cause analysis, impact assessment, and implement preventive measures. Experience working with Atlassian Jira and Confluence for documentation and project management. Must pass public trust clearance, either as a U.S. citizen or through appropriate foreign national clearance channels. Responsibilities The DevSecOps Engineer will be responsible for a broad range of tasks, including but not limited to: Designing, implementing, and maintaining secure DevSecOps toolchains supporting Salesforce-based platforms and integrations across AWS, Microsoft 365, T-MSIS, MBES/MacFin, and CMS DataConnect. Building and managing CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and Copado to automate build, testing, security scanning, deployment, and rollback processes for Salesforce and AWS components. Managing AWS cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation, ensuring compliance with CMS Cloud governance and FedRAMP Moderate standards. Implementing comprehensive observability strategies across platforms using tools like Splunk, New Relic, or Dynatrace, including creating dashboards and alerts for system health and performance metrics. Automating routine operational tasks such as provisioning, patching, configuration management, and user access management through scripting and APIs to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort. Collaborating with security teams to embed security gates into pipelines, including static and dynamic application security testing, container security, and vulnerability remediation within defined timeframes. Supporting incident, change, and problem management processes, contributing to root-cause analysis, and implementing preventive actions to enhance system resilience. Maintaining secure, monitored environments across development, testing, UAT, staging, and production, employing minimum-downtime deployment strategies and validated rollback procedures. Developing and testing backup, retention, and disaster recovery strategies for Salesforce and AWS assets, ensuring data integrity and availability. Managing user access, secrets, and certificates across systems such as CMS IDM/Okta, AWS IAM, GitHub, and Copado, following zero-trust and least privilege principles. Documenting architecture, operational procedures, and deployment processes using CMS-approved tools, ensuring transparency and knowledge sharing with stakeholders. Partnering with cloud contractors to optimize resource utilization, control costs, and ensure adherence to CMS cloud governance policies. Mentoring engineering teams on DevSecOps best practices, automation strategies, and continuous improvement metrics to enhance deployment reliability and frequency.
