As part of this initiative, they have implemented a library of engineering automation skills, playbooks, scripts, and workflows that operate within cloud-based development environments and enable AI-assisted software delivery. The organization is seeking a hands-on DevOps / Platform Engineer to help transition these automation capabilities from an Azure-centric architecture to an AWS-based environment. This role will focus on adapting infrastructure, deployment automation, CI/CD pipelines, developer tooling, and supporting documentation to align with the firm's AWS platform standards and engineering practices. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys infrastructure automation, cloud platform engineering, DevOps, and modern developer enablement. The successful candidate will partner closely with internal engineering teams to modernize and validate platform capabilities while leveraging AI-assisted development tools where appropriate. Key Responsibilities Migrate container build and deployment workflows from Azure-based services to AWS-native solutions, including Amazon ECR and related container platforms. Adapt Kubernetes-based deployment processes to Amazon ECS/Fargate environments. Configure and implement AWS identity, access management, and federated authentication solutions. Replace Azure-based secret and configuration management patterns with AWS Secrets Manager and AWS Systems Manager. Convert and enhance Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform and AWS providers. Build and maintain GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines supporting containerized application deployment into AWS environments. Update automation scripts, workflows, and engineering playbooks to operate effectively within cloud-based development workspaces. Configure and optimize developer tools and engineering automation capabilities within Linux-based development environments. Review, test, and validate AI-assisted code and infrastructure changes to ensure quality, security, and compliance with engineering standards. Evaluate opportunities to simplify and modernize deployment patterns through AWS-native tooling and infrastructure frameworks. Execute testing and validation activities while producing documentation and knowledge transfer materials for internal engineering teams. Collaborate with DevOps, platform, security, and software engineering teams to ensure reliable and scalable solutions. Required Qualifications Senior-level experience designing, supporting, and automating AWS cloud platforms. Strong knowledge of AWS services including: IAM ECS/Fargate ECR Secrets Manager Systems Manager (SSM) S3 VPC Networking CloudWatch Experience deploying and managing containerized applications in AWS environments. Strong Terraform expertise, including infrastructure design, module development, provider migrations, and remote state management. Hands-on experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions. Experience implementing deployment automation for cloud-native applications. Advanced scripting experience with Bash and/or Python. Ability to read, understand, and modify automation-focused repositories containing infrastructure code, scripts, workflows, and technical documentation. Working knowledge of Azure services and concepts sufficient to understand existing environments and translate solutions to AWS. Strong understanding of Docker, Git, and modern software delivery practices. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar solutions. Experience with cloud development environments, including Coder, GitHub Codespaces, Dev Containers, or related platforms. Familiarity with AWS CDK, AWS Blocks, or other infrastructure-from-code frameworks. Experience with identity and access management solutions, including OIDC federation and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD). Exposure to data platforms such as Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, or AWS Glue. Previous experience in insurance, financial services, or highly regulated environments. What Will Make Someone Successful Strong AWS platform engineering and automation expertise.
