*Role: * Director of Finance Location: Abbotsford Work Site: Maplewood House and MSA Manor Primary site: Maplewood House ? 1919 Jackson St., Abbotsford, British Columbia, V2S 2Z8 Categories: Management/Excluded Employment: Regular Full-Time About the Role: Summary Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Finance is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team responsible for strategic and operational leadership of Maplewood Care Society's finance and accounting functions, with additional oversight of corporate information management and technology, privacy, human resources administration and corporate risk processes. This role provides financial stewardship and strategic planning support to ensure the effective, efficient and compliant management of organizational resources. The incumbent acts as a senior advisor to the CEO, Board of Directors and Finance and Audit Committee and leads core corporate systems that support organizational sustainability, accountability and performance. This position requires a hands-on, collaborative and communication-focused leadership style, strong analytical and financial skills, and a commitment to a positive, safe work environment aligned with MCS's Vision, Mission and Values. About You Education and Experience * CPA designation required. * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline. * Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible accounting and financial-management experience, including leadership of financial reporting, budgeting, audit and internal controls. * Experience in a not-for-profit, healthcare, residential care or other regulated environment is preferred. * Experience with Board and committee reporting, financial systems implementation, and government or funder reporting is preferred. * Knowledge of Canadian and not-for-profit accounting standards is required. * Experience supervising and developing finance staff is required; experience overseeing corporate IT, privacy, human resources administration or corporate risk processes is an asset. Skills and Abilities * Strong financial acumen, analytical abilities and strategic judgement. * Understanding of information technology systems and advanced proficiency with accounting software, payroll platforms and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. * Ability to manage competing priorities, multiple complex projects and changing organizational needs while meeting deadlines. * Excellent communication and writing skills; able to convey complex information clearly. * Strong interpersonal, relationship-building and customer service skills. * Demonstrated leadership in motivating, mentoring and coaching diverse teams. * Knowledge of legislation, professional standards and regulatory requirements applicable to finance, human resources administration, information management and technology, privacy, corporate risk and residential care. What You?ll Do Senior Leadership & Strategic Planning * Participates as a member of the Senior Leadership Team to address organization-wide issues, strategic initiatives, long-term planning, and continuous quality improvement. * Provides expert analysis of trends, indicators and performance metrics regarding finance, sick time, overtime, OHS/Worksafe rates, and other information as needed and provides advice to the CEO and Board committees on strategies to achieve optimal results. * Leads the development and evaluation of annual operating plans and budgets and contributes to long-range organizational planning. * Acts as staff lead for the Finance and Audit Committee.
