This role requires a rare blend of startup velocity and enterprise rigor—someone who has built 0→1 products from scratch and scaled 1→N platforms to millions of users. You will work across B2C and B2B domains, shaping end-to-end experiences while deeply optimizing the systems and workflows that power them. From crafting intuitive, high-performance interfaces to re-architecting underlying business processes, your mandate is simple: build products that drive measurable growth, engagement, and bottom-line impact. key responsibilities Lead end-to-end product engineering from ideation to scale, spanning frontend, backend, data, and infrastructure layers Build and iterate 0→1 products, rapidly testing hypotheses and driving toward product-market fit through continuous experimentation Architect and scale 1→N platforms, modernizing legacy systems into high-performing, user-centric digital ecosystems Ability to balance speed, quality, and scalability in high-stakes, high-visibility product environments Design and implement best-in-class user experiences grounded in material design principles and performance optimization Develop reusable product frameworks, design systems, and component libraries to accelerate development across subsidiaries Optimize underlying workflows and business processes, aligning product design with operational efficiency and revenue outcomes Partner closely with product, design, and business leaders to translate strategy into execution-ready systems Leverage modern development platforms and environments—including Firebase, Flutter, and React—to deliver scalable, cross-platform applications Drive adoption of next-generation vibe coding environments and AI-assisted development workflows to accelerate iteration cycles required technical expertise 15+ years of experience in full-stack product engineering, with a strong track record across both startup and enterprise environments Proven success building 0→1 products and scaling platforms to large user bases with measurable business impact Deep expertise in frontend development frameworks, including Flutter, React, and modern mobile/web architectures Strong backend and systems design experience, including APIs, microservices, and distributed systems Experience with cloud-native development platforms such as Firebase and modern DevOps practices Strong understanding of product analytics, A/B testing, and growth engineering techniques Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and emerging coding environments that enhance developer productivity leadership & impact Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives and technical leaders across Berkshire Hathaway subsidiaries Mentor and elevate senior and principal engineers—setting the bar for engineering excellence and architectural rigor Lead through influence, not authority—aligning diverse stakeholders around shared standards and long-term platform strategy Bridge the gap between technology and business outcomes—ensuring that every product decision drives growth, engagement, or efficiency Champion a builder mindset, empowering teams to move quickly from concept to impact while maintaining high standards of quality Drive innovation by integrating emerging technologies into real-world product experiences that scale across industries This is a role for a builder who thrives at the intersection of product, engineering, and business—someone who can turn ideas into reality and scale them into enduring platforms. attention: This position involves working with critical infrastructure companies and requires US citizenship and residency in one of the lower 48 states required.
