Description
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Clean and prepare surfaces. Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets. Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry. Attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring. Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts and electrical outlets. Install acoustic tile, hangers for suspended ceilings and metal studs for composition wallboard or lath. Install exterior and interior steel studs. Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools. Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years. Support for youths: Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth. Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for youth. Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
