You will manage our professional kitchen, oversee large-scale banquet operations, and lead engaging recreational cooking classes for couples, foodies and corporate teams?all while acting as the primary executor of our shared culinary mission. *Key Responsibilities * Kitchen Leadership & Strategic Execution * Execute the Vision: Work closely with the Owner to translate the established culinary concept into daily operations. You will be responsible for the faithful execution of our core menu and standards, ensuring consistency with the Owner's defined vision for the restaurant. * Note: While we value your input on operational efficiency and seasonal specials, the strategic direction and core identity of the restaurant are set by ownership. Your role is to bring that vision to life with precision and excellence. * Banquet & Event Mastery: Plan, coordinate, and execute high-volume banquets and private events alongside regular fine dining service. Ensure seamless service for weddings, corporate functions, and VIP gatherings. * Team Management: Supervise, mentor, and train a team of 5?10 staff (sous-chefs, cooks, prep) to maintain peak performance during both à la carte and banquet rushes. * Operations: Manage food costs, inventory, supplier relations, and ensure strict adherence to health and safety codes across all service types. Culinary Instruction & Community Engagement * Lead Recreational Classes: Design and teach interactive workshops for amateurs and foodies, including: * Couples' Cooking Nights * Corporate Team-Building Events * Weekend Masterclasses (e.g., "Authentic Pasta Making," "Italian Sauces 101") * Teach to our foodies with Clarity: Adapt professional techniques into simple, fun, and safe instructions for non-professionals. * Inspire Passion: Engage students with the history and culture behind our dishes, fostering a love for authentic cooking. * Classroom Safety: Ensure all students follow strict hygiene and safety protocols while handling knives, heat, and equipment. Experience * Proven supervising experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting, preferably as an Executive Chef or Sous Chef * Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food service operations * Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to manage teams effectively * In-depth knowledge of restaurant management, food safety, and kitchen operations * Experience in menu development, food handling, and maintaining high standards of quality * Familiarity with the food industry trends, hospitality practices, and customer service excellence * Strong familiarity and recreational teaching capability in: Italian (Pizza/Pasta), Bahamian, French, Mexican, Japanese, and BBQ techniques. * Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Required Qualifications * *Education: *College/CEGEP certificate/diploma (1?2 years) in Culinary Arts or Food Services Management * *Management Exp.: *2?3 years in an Executive Chef or Sous Chef role in a fine dining and banquet setting * Teaching Exp.
