Compass Access Solutions Ltd. is a privately owned company providing innovative matting solutions to the Canadian energy and infrastructure sectors. We are currently seeking an experienced *Financial Controller *who will be responsible for the strategy, planning, execution, management, and control of all financial activities. Reporting to the President, the successful candidate will ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting while liaising with Senior Managers to guide financials and implement strategic business decisions. This is a key leadership role requiring strong business acumen, communication skills and the ability to understand performance through financial metrics. *Main Responsibilities: * * Oversee all aspects of financial accounting, including accounts receivable & payable, payroll, and account reconciliation * Reviewing, advising, developing and implementing internal controls designed to safeguard financial transactions and assets * Monitoring and balancing cash flows within the business to meet obligations and optimize ROI * Working with the Senior Managers to complete capital requests and financial budgets for their division; incorporating historical data as necessary * Interpreting, reporting and utilizing KPI?s to drive business improvement * Participating in populating models for tender/ bidding processes * Perform banking transactions including deposits and payments * Preparing company tax, financial statements, analysis and reports * Handling payroll & T4 processing and tax compliance; GST and payroll remittance filing * Preparing monthly, annual, and various other financial statements and reports to guide decision making * Ensuring compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and systems of internal controls * Providing general oversite and administering of rental fleet inventory based on information provided by operations * Identifying efficiencies and opportunities for cost reductions across the business Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Accounting; professional certification, such as CPA (certified public accountant) or CA (chartered accountant) is required * Must be able to analyze financial statements, interpret KPI?s, generate forecasts and annual budgets * Excellent leadership, presentation, negotiation, and analytical skills * Superior problem-solving, analytical, and teamwork skills * Must possess a desire to effect change and make a difference in the organization * Experience using accounting software; Dynamics Business Central is an asset * Be self-driven, motivated, well organized, and work well independently as well as with a team * Have the ability and desire to follow company policies and procedures while adhering to all established safety standards Compass Access Solutions offers a great work environment and competitive compensation package.
