With $1B+ in annual payment volume and millions of transactions per month, we're building financial infrastructure that needs to be fast, reliable, and bulletproof.About the RoleWe're looking for a Full Stack Engineer to build features on Chexy Core (our web application). You'll work on both sides of the stack?from payment processing systems and APIs to user-facing web experiences that help Canadians manage their most important payments.This role involves taking ownership of features end-to-end, from database and API design through frontend implementation and deployment. You'll build production-grade systems that move real money while creating intuitive user experiences. You'll ensure both our backend and frontend are clean, scalable, and performant.What You'll Be DoingBuild features end-to-end on our Next.js web app (Chexy Core)Develop payment processing features including inflows, outflows, and integrations with card networks and banking systemsDesign and implement REST APIs and integrate them into frontend applicationsBuild user-facing features in Next.js and React with Tailwind CSS for stylingWork with PostgreSQL (backend) and Firestore (web app) for data modeling and queriesWrite clean, well-tested code across both TypeScript backend and frontend codebasesDesign responsive, accessible web interfaces that work across desktop and mobile browsersParticipate in code reviews for both backend and frontend contributionsDebug and resolve issues across the full stack in development and productionCollaborate with product, design, and mobile teams to ship cohesive featuresParticipate in on-call rotations for production systemsWho We're Looking For4-6 years of full stack engineering experience building production web applicationsStrong experience with Node.js and TypeScript for backend developmentStrong experience with React and modern frontend development (Next.js experience is a plus)Experience with backend frameworks like NestJS, Express, or similarSolid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (Firestore or similar)Experience building and consuming REST APIs with understanding of API design principlesProficiency with CSS frameworks (Tailwind CSS preferred) and responsive designUnderstanding of authentication systems and security best practicesFamiliarity with financial systems, payment processing, or fintech productsStrong testing practices for both backend and frontend codeAbility to balance technical trade-offs between backend performance and frontend user experienceStrong communication skills and ability to work across teamsOwnership mentality with attention to code quality, system reliability, and user experienceBonus PointsExperience with Next.js and server-side renderingFamiliarity with NestJS or similar microservices frameworksExperience with Firestore or other NoSQL databasesKnowledge of Clerk or similar authentication platformsExperience with financial systems concepts: ledgers, transactions, reconciliationFamiliarity with Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, Firestore)Experience with payment integrations or banking APIsExperience with Prisma ORMContributions to open-source projectsDesign sensibility and experience working closely with product designersWhy Join Chexy?
