Description
Information Systems (IS) team builds the workflow-driven applications that power production across film, TV, games, and digital content. This is a full-stack Python role on a small, senior, high-trust engineering team supporting everyone from on-set crew who need secure access to scripts, to full-time digital asset managers running complex tools all day. The team is actively expanding its core digital asset management systems to support new user groups. Design, build, and maintain full-stack web applications used across client's production pipeline Work across the stack: Python/Flask backend services, Vue front-end, SQLAlchemy/Postgres data layer Build and maintain asynchronous task pipelines using Celery and Redis Support search and indexing needs using Solr Work with large-scale media transfer and file management via Aspera Deploy and manage services using Docker and AWS Lambda Handle time-based media workflows: transcoding, colorspace management, playback optimization Balance long-term legacy systems (Python has been core here for 30 years) with modern development practices Follow the team's "Scout Rule " ethos leave code cleaner than you found it Requirements 8 -10+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong, demonstrable Python background Hands-on expertise with some combination of: Vue, Flask, SQLAlchemy, Postgres, Redis, Solr, Celery, Docker Experience with cloud services (AWS/Lambda) and containerization Experience with time-based media (video/audio) technical workflows is a strong plus Comfortable working in a small, informal, non-hierarchical team where managers support rather than direct day-to-day work Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset supporting both highly technical and non-technical users
