Must-Haves 6+ years of software engineering experience with strong coding experience in one or more general purpose languages, such as Python, Go, and/or Java Experience building containerized services using Kubernetes Hands-on experience developing, securing, or governing enterprise AI/GenAI platforms, applications, workflows, or infrastructure in a production environment Experience defining and implementing infrastructure and application pipelines Expert understanding of software development methodologies and concepts Ability to deliver robust, production-ready security controls for agentic GenAI systems and platforms, drive continuous improvement, advocate for safety and privacy-by-design, and communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders Comfort partnering across various internal teams, such as DevOps, MLOps, Product,Legal, and Compliance, to land guardrails without blocking delivery Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, motivational skills in achieving business objectives Strong application security/cybersecurity background, including secure software development practices, threat modeling, vulnerability research, code analysis, and securing cloud-native applications Demonstrated ability to partner with engineering, platform, and product teams to influence and implement security controls without disrupting innovation or delivery Experience defining security roadmaps, reference architectures, governance frameworks, and long-term security strategy for emerging technologies Active engagement with emerging AI technologies through research, experimentation, open-source projects, personal learning, or community involvement Plusses Application Security Engineering background Experience securing internally developed AI platforms, copilots, agents, or large-scale AI deployments Experience implementing AI guardrails, prompt security controls, data protection controls, and secure API integrations Experience partnering with Platform Engineering, DevOps, MLOps, or Software Engineering teams Experience with Bedrock or similar enterprise AI platforms Experience establishing AI governance programs, security control frameworks, or regulatory compliance controls Contributions to AI security research, open-source projects, speaking engagements, or personal AI initiatives Day-to-day As a GenAI Security Engineer, you will partner closely with the GenAI Engineering organization to design, implement, and continuously evolve security controls that protect the firm's agentic and human-in-the-loop AI systems. You will help define the firm's AI security strategy and roadmap while building guardrails for model usage, API integrations, agent workflows, and connector frameworks. In this role, you will lead threat modeling and risk assessments across areas such as prompt injection, jailbreaks, tool abuse, data exfiltration, training data leakage, and supply chain risks, translating findings into practical, scalable mitigations. You will establish secure-by-default architectures for cloud-native and hybrid AI environments, improve monitoring and detection capabilities for anomalous AI behavior, and lead incident response efforts involving AI applications and sensitive data. Additionally, you will work across Technology, Compliance, Legal, and business stakeholders to implement governance frameworks, security standards, and regulatory requirements, serving as a trusted advisor on emerging AI threats while enabling the secure adoption of innovative AI capabilities across the enterprise.
