About the role.The Nurse Practitioner provides advanced primary and/or specialty nursing care to McCain employees and household family members of McCain Foods Limited located at the Florenceville Campus. Additionally, the NP will develop and lead programs and resources to protect and enrich the physical and mental well-being of all McCain employees.The primary work location is the McCain Corporate Headquarters: 8800 Main Street, Florenceville-Bristol, New Brunswick (Mon-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm). Please note: Hours are subject to change due to operational requirements. What you'll be doing.This position reports directly to the Director, River Valley Strategy and Florenceville Campus and functions with broad clinical autonomy as well as strategic influence within the organization supporting quality care, including:Autonomously diagnosing and treating illnessesOrdering and interpreting testsPrescribing medicationPerforming medical proceduresManage, direct and provide comprehensive health care for individuals and families who visit the McCain Health ClinicConsult with a collaborating physician and/or other medical professionals when the patient's condition requires care beyond the NP's scope of practice Provide leadership and education in wholistic care including:Addressing needs relating to a person's physical and mental healthGathering medical historyFocusing on how an illness affects a person's life and familyOffering ways for a person to lead a healthy lifeTeaching people how to manage chronic illnessLead the development and implementation of education and awareness programs that can be facilitated through various mediums, focusing on our Florenceville Campus locations. These may include (but are not limited to):WebinarsWorkshopsCommunication materialsOnsite consultationsCollaborate with cross functional teams related to Wellbeing, Health and Safety, Human Resources, Workplace Experience etc. to support McCain Foods overall employee experienceBe curious, always seeking to learn, improve and simplify workflows, empower staff, and creatively improve day-to-day office function What you'll need to be successful.Completion of master's in nursing degree and valid certificate as a Nurse Practitioner, preferably in the Primary Health Care focusCompletion of a recognized undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, by an accredited UniversityCurrent registration & good standing with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick (NANB) as an RN(CD)Membership in Nurses Association of New Brunswick organizations relevant to the roleCurrent professional liability insurance through the Canadian Nurses Protective Society (CNPS)Extensive experience in assessment of patients in emergency situationsKnowledge of the use of a defibrillatorCurrent health care provider level CPR and First Aid CertificateCurrent Criminal Record CheckMinimum 5 years RN +/- NP experienceAbility to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality workExercise initiative and good judgmentCompliance with confidentiality requirementsEffective organizational, interpersonal and communication skillsDemonstrated coaching, mentoring skills as well as superior presentation and consultative skills About McCain.Click Here to learn more about McCain and how we provide you with opportunities to make an impact that matters.
