Infectious Disease physician

Position Overview A respected Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving Brooklyn communities is seeking an Infectious Disease Physician to join its growing multidisciplinary team. This physician will play a critical role in the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of patients living with HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and other infectious diseases while helping improve health outcomes among underserved and high-risk populations. This is more than a traditional Infectious Disease position. The physician will also contribute to program development, clinical leadership, quality initiatives, and multidisciplinary care coordination within a mission-driven organization focused on community health and health equity. What You'll Do Diagnose and manage HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and related co-infections Develop individualized evidence-based treatment plans Monitor viral suppression, medication adherence, liver function, and treatment outcomes Manage opportunistic infections and complex infectious disease cases Provide HIV prevention services including PrEP, PEP, STI screening, and counseling Support hepatitis prevention, vaccination, and harm-reduction initiatives Collaborate with behavioral health, pharmacy, case management, and social services teams Participate in quality improvement, clinical program development, and community health initiatives Supervise Nurse Practitioners and support clinical staff development Maintain accurate and compliant EMR documentation Qualifications Required MD or DO from an accredited institution Board Certified or Board Eligible in Infectious Disease or Internal Medicine with Infectious Disease specialization Active New York medical license or ability to obtain DEA registration AAHIVM HIV Specialist credential Strong knowledge of HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and infectious disease management Preferred 3+ years of Infectious Disease clinical experience Experience treating HIV/HBV/HCV co-infected patients Experience working in FQHC, community health, public health, or underserved care settings Familiarity with Ryan White HIV/AIDS programs Bilingual abilities Telemedicine experience Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is passionate about community health, infectious disease management, and improving outcomes for vulnerable populations.
