Zoom 5 days onsite Role: IT Security Analyst Duration: Initial 6 month contract Job Summary The Security Analyst 2 - conducts advanced computer forensic investigations, data recovery, and electronic discovery. The incumbent in this role maintains and enhances systems to protect data from unauthorized access, as well as develops and implements security protocols and policies. This position identifies, reports, and resolves more complex security violations and threats. Education CORE QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor s Degree in relevant field required, or 1-2 years of experience in IT support or IT security roles in lieu of a degree. Certification And Licensing Certification in relevant specialty or field required. Industry certifications: CompTIA Security+ (Sec+), CySA+, CEH, preferred Experience Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in security operations or IT support role. Knowledge, Skills And Attitudes Strong critical thinking skills. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to collect, organize, and analyze data. Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems. Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions. Excellent communication and technical writing skills Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment. Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Ability to identify and communicate best practices. Ability to understand, document, and analyze business processes from a control and operational perspective. Monitor and report security incidents in real-time, ensuring prompt detection and escalation of threats. Operate in a 24/7 environment including holydays; shift work is required to maintain continuous coverage. Participate actively in incident response activities, including initial triage, investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery. Perform initial triage and analysis of security incidents. Document all incident response steps, findings, and outcomes in the ticketing system for compliance and future reference. Conduct analysis and evidence collection as part of incident investigations. Assist in developing and refining incident response playbooks and procedures. Support post-incident activities, including root cause analysis, lessons learned, and reporting. Responsible for security identity verifications and access control reviews during incidents. Update ticketing system with detailed incident records and status updates. Communicate effectively with stakeholders during security incidents, providing timely updates and recommendations. Participate in on-call rotations or emergency response as required. Contribute to continuous improvement of incident response processes and SOC documentation Required to be on-call after hours to support security incidents.
