We are seeking individuals qualified to work as a Laboratory Technician BioBank Specialist to support the mission of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Rockville, MD . Access to NIH’s unparalleled resources and niche scientific initiatives Duties Include: Plan and execute laboratory experiments using established protocols and aseptic techniques across a range of routine and specialized procedures Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment, including performing routine maintenance, monitoring performance, and ensuring equipment is clean and ready for use Process, catalog, and manage biological samples including blood and tumor tissue, with proper authorization and adherence to retrieval and storage policies Maintain sample and database inventory, performing quality control procedures to ensure accuracy across all test systems, sample processing, and storage Collect, document, and analyze experimental data by maintaining laboratory notebooks, entering data into spreadsheets, and conducting statistical analysis Monitor and manage laboratory supply inventory, tracking consumption, stocking consumables, and initiating purchase orders to ensure maximum lab efficiency Work collaboratively with staff to implement storage and distribution of biological samples and maintain laboratory logs and databases Ensure regulatory and procedural compliance by following all established protocols for sample handling, storage, equipment use, and waste management Requirements BS degree in Biology or related field minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
