Laboratory Technician

Mesoblast is a commercial-stage cell therapy company developing allogeneic mesenchymal stromal cell therapies for inflammatory conditions with high unmet medical need. We operate across Australia, the United States and Singapore, and our work spans discovery through to commercial supply. Our Translational Research facility in Houston is where the science becomes product. The assays run in this laboratory support CMC activities, product characterisation and the development and registration programmes that carry our therapies toward patients. Cell therapy is a living product, and every batch, every assay and every data point contributes to the confidence that regulators, clinicians and patients place in what we make. We are looking for a Laboratory Technician to join the team. You will perform testing of Mesoblast's cell therapy products using an established panel of assays, growing and maintaining mammalian cells in culture, and generating, collecting and analysing study samples. Your day-to-day will draw on your skills in flow cytometry, immunoassays, live cell imaging, histological staining and qPCR. You will record and collate results, analyse experimental data, complete test records and prepare data summaries for reports. You will assist in troubleshooting experiments and in the technical transfer of new assays. You will also keep the laboratory running: preparing cell culture media, screening critical materials and reagents, performing equipment calibration and maintenance so instruments operate at optimum parameters, maintaining inventories, and keeping a neat and organised workspace. Throughout, you will uphold our environmental, health and safety standards, identifying and actioning hazards and working with the team to eliminate them. You will bring: A Bachelor's degree in a biomedical field or related field 2+ years' experience in an industry or GxP laboratory environment A results-oriented, outcomes-driven approach to your work Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - able to identify problems, get to root cause, and contribute to resolution Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to present ideas and views Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail The ability to work effectively within a remote, globally distributed team This is an opportunity to work alongside experienced scientists in a lean, commercial-stage organisation where individual contribution is visible and your laboratory work sits close to patient outcomes.
