Job Description Job Description Sterling Law Professional Corporation seeks a Legal Assistant/Family Law Clerk with minimum two years' experience to assist a one lawyer/flexible one law clerk team in its Family Law and Wills and Trusts Practice. Below is comprehensive, but not exhaustive, list of the various tasks required of the candidate. Tasks are not simultaneously required of course; they only indicate what our ideal candidate's days look like. Required ability in the use of the following software on a Clouds based platforms: DivorceMate, Cosmolex, Teams, Calendly, Vaultie, Adobe, Case Center. You will assist by providing administrative and substantive support including: - Project management tasks as assigned - Review confirm calendars, book meetings and arrange conference rooms - Organise and Manage legal e-files - Manage call and electronic communications for intake and file management - Client interaction - Participate in client identification and required onboarding -Review client data in practice management software. -Serve as the primary administrative contact for clients. -Respond to routine inquiries regarding scheduling, document requests, and process. -Relay substantive legal questions to the lawyer. -Send reminders regarding disclosure requirements and upcoming deadlines. -Maintain professional, organized communication logs in Cosmolex and/or Teams -Review office calendars and assist in preparing for various events including Court dates, conferences, mediations, collaborative and other client meetings -Track, prepare for and update clerk and lawyer of filing deadlines, service deadlines, disclosure deadlines - Invoices clients and Monitor and follow up on outstanding accounts where appropriate. -Communicate with and supply documents to bookkeeper/accountant -Maintaining professionalism including strict client and firm confidentiality; compliance with Law Society and firm standards - Proficiency with filing pleadings and documents via the JSO Portal, and uploading and navigating Case Center - Drafting preliminary versions of Financial, Application, Affidavit and Conference documents, updating same - Organize financial disclosure including Tax returns, Notices of Assessment, Bank statements, Employment records in client files and disclosure briefs - Facilitating communications with clients and courts - Preparing Mediation and other ADR Briefs We offer a competitive compensation in the range of $50,000- $65,000 depending on experience plus health benefits Full time, Hybrid work schedule.
