Located in the Connaigre District of Central Region, the Operations Manager will be responsible for the effective and efficient day to day 24/7 operations of the EMS service including managing paramedics and a dynamic EMS system to meet the performance requirements of the ambulance service for the contracted service area and surrounding areas. Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will assist with the Company Corporate Strategic Goals, build staff capabilities, and implement changes to improve service levels by supporting and influencing both external patient care and internal staff. The overall general role of this position is to direct and provide oversight for the workforce in a positive manner while supporting relations with our external partners for major strategic projects across the organization while mitigating risk for MHNL. The successful candidate will support the senior management team as needed. They will ensure maintenance of ambulances, support vehicles, and medical equipment. Promoting a culture of reporting among staff is essential. The candidate will implement changes to improve patient care and minimize risk, while staying updated on patient safety trends. They will manage staff performance, handle complaints, and oversee daily operations according to Medavie policies. Involved in recruitment, they will ensure policies are understood and followed. They will ensure staff and public safety by complying with regulations. Keeping up with legislative and technological developments is crucial. The candidate will help evaluate departmental operations and report results to senior leadership. They will manage paramedic resources and collaborate with other emergency services and stakeholders. They will assist in investigations and report the findings to the Regional Manager. They will coordinate major incidents and disaster management, and perform other duties as assigned. Professional Qualifications & Competencies: ? Have completed an approved Paramedic training program and are currently registered as either a Primary Care Paramedic or an Advanced Care Paramedic in the province of NFLD. ? Possess a minimum of five years' experience working as a paramedic with a minimum of three years in a progressively responsible leadership role or equivalent. ? Have proven experience in EMS management, information technology, finance, and human resources. ? Comprehensive understanding of appropriate federal, provincial and municipal legislation and regulations related to Ground Ambulance and Emergency Medical Services. ? Possess experience in leading and facilitating training and working groups. ? Possess a valid Class 4 driver's license in NFLD (or equivalent). ? Can exercise independent judgment and can problem solve with discretion. ? Is committed to providing excellent levels of customer/patient service and have a passion for business growth within MHNL. ? Possess and demonstrate leadership abilities with a proven track record for inspiring and motivating others. ? Is skilled in leading and developing staff. ?
