WHAT WE?RE LOOKING FOR Post-secondary degree in economic development, commerce, marketing, public/business administration, tourism or a related ?eld. Must possess and maintain a valid BC drivers? licence as per City policy. Minimum of ?ve (5) years? recent, progressively responsible experience in economic development, tourism or closely related ?eld. Minimum of three (3) years? recent progressive supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized environment. Previous local government experience. Experience in destination marketing and promotion using multiple mediums and digital platforms. Experience in the development of departmental and corporate long-range plans as well as budget formulation and reporting processes. Experience working effectively with Indigenous communities.WHAT MAKES YOU STAND OUT Certi?ed Economic Developer (Ec.D.) designation. Local government administration or municipal leadership. Experience with MRDT programs and working with Destination BC, Destination Canada, or similar. Experience supporting Indigenous tourism initiatives, intergovernmental relations and reconciliation-related programs. WHAT YOU?LL BE DOING Spearhead the City?s economic and tourism initiatives, guiding strategic plans, departmental work programs, and investment readiness. Drive destination development, business retention & attraction and MRDT supported tourism programming. Provide day-to-day leadership to staff, oversee department budgets, monitor performance metrics.
