- About the Opportunity: The Medical Claims (Billing) Specialist ensures accurate preparation and processing of billing data and claims for agencies under contract with the organization. This role is responsible for maintaining compliance with contractual and audit requirements, supporting financial operations, and collaborating with team members to optimize service delivery. The position contributes to the organization’s mission by enabling efficient billing practices that support client care.
- Responsibilities: • Prepare billing data for payer submission • Comply with contractual provisions for billing and encounter data • Submit invoices to agencies • Apply payments and collect on unpaid claims • Prepare reconciliations and apply payments to the general ledger • Enter information into databases for record keeping • Collaborate with staff to improve service delivery • Ensure compliance standards are met for audits • Maintain confidentiality of client records • Identify process improvement opportunities • Uphold organizational values and mission • Perform other duties as assigned
- Requirements: • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred • Minimum 2 years relevant experience • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures • Strong written and oral communication skills • Ability to organize work to meet deadlines • Detail-oriented with basic math skills • Ability to work effectively in a team
