Ensure accuracy and quality control of lab results, maintain compliance with clinical laboratory standards, and collaborate with physicians and other health care providers as part of a multidisciplinary medical team. Minimum Qualifications: Baccalaureate or Master of Science degree from an accredited college or university in medical technology (MT), clinical laboratory science (CLS), medical laboratory science (MLS), or natural science GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, including a 3.0 GPA in core MT/MLS/CLS science coursework Certificate of completion for a one-year course of study in medical technology, medical laboratory science, or clinical laboratory science from a program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) Successful completion of a national Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Scientist professional certification examination administered by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists Three years of clinical laboratory experience within the most recent six-year period (research and veterinary laboratory experience excluded) U.S. Citizenship Between the ages of 21 and 64 (Title 10 U.S. Code section 531 and 532) Note: The NAACLS program completion requirement may be waived for applicants with at least four years of documented clinical laboratory training and experience. GPA waivers may be granted on a case-by-case basis for exceptional candidates with significant work experience or currently underrepresented skills.
