Pride Health is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist to support our client’s medical facility based in Arlington, TX. This is a 3 + month assignment with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization! Job Title: Technical Lab - Medical Laboratory Scientist Location: Arlington, TX 76011 Duration: 3+ months Shift: Evening shift: Monday - Thursday 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM and Friday - 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM Pay range: $35/hr - $ 40/hr *The salary is determined by an individual's level of experience, as well as any relevant licenses and certifications they may hold. Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) for a high-volume hospital laboratory setting. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and capable of handling complex specimens with minimal training. Key Responsibilities: Perform specimen handling, testing, and result reporting as per lab SOPs. Ensure compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety regulations. Follow quality control (QC/QA) procedures and maintain accurate records. Analyze samples using approved methods and review/release results. Identify and resolve testing issues or escalate to supervisors when needed. Document corrective actions and maintain proper equipment/reagent records. Communicate critical results and support training, audits, and team activities. Required Knowledge: A solid understanding of basic laboratory testing is required for this position. The successful candidate must possess good computer skills and be able to adapt to working on multiple computer systems. Must have knowledge of QC and QA as well as knowledge of all areas of the laboratory. Qualifications: BS in Medical Technology, or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology. Alternatively, previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.1433 (published on March 14, 1990). Candidate should possess or be eligible for national certification as an MT / MLT from a recognized organization (ASCP or AMT). Experience: At least one year of clinical experience in high complexity testing is preferred. A minimum of one year of clinical laboratory experience is required for candidates with a BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology. National and State licensure as required.
