.NET Backend Developer (Azure Functions)

Backend Developer Location: Bethesda, MD 6-12+ month project. Onsite 4 days per week. Final Interview Will be Onsite Please note that candidates will need to provide manager references who can speak to their work. We cannot use peer or other contract lead s. We are seeking a strong Backend Developer to design, build, and scale our core data integration pipelines and serverless backend services. In this role, you will be responsible for creating high-throughput REST APIs, orchestrating automated ETL workflows, and optimizing heavy relational database layers to ensure seamless data movement across our enterprise syste ms. Core Responsibili tiesServerless Comp ute: Design, implement, and maintain scalable, event-driven microservices using Azure Functions (utilizing HttpTriggers for real-time API traffic and TimerTriggers for scheduled orchestratio ns).Database & ETL Engineer ing: Build and optimize complex data flows via ETL pipelines. Write high-performance SQL, design relational schemas, and develop robust stored procedures to handle critical business logic at the data la yer.API Developm ent: Develop, secure, and maintain scalable, production-grade REST APIs using C# / . NET.System Scalabil ity: Monitor, tune, and optimize backend applications to ensure high availability, low latency, and efficient resource utilization under heavy transactional lo ads.Required Skills & Experi enceC# / . NET: 4+ years of professional backend development experience building decoupled, maintainable enterprise servi ces.Microsoft Az ure: Deep familiarity with serverless architecture, specifically hand-on experience deploying and configuration Azure Functions (Http and Timer bindin gs).Advanced SQL: Strong proficiency in relational databases with deep expertise writing complex queries, tuning indexes, and authoring/debugging stored procedu res.Data Integrat ion: Proven experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and integrating disparate systems via robust RESTful web servi ces.Performance Mind set: Understanding of concurrency, caching strategies, and data serialization techniques necessary for building scalable servi ces.
