Network Engineer
Description
Minimum Entrance Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant discipline Seven (7) years of practical experience in a network engineer role Design and engineering experience of complex telecommunications networks Ability to diagnose and remediate complex network issues Technical knowledge of advanced Ethernet switching, IP routing (OSPF, VRRP, BGP) Intimate knowledge of fiber optic transmission, termination, and testing practices Working knowledge of complex network infrastructure security (ACLs, stateful policies, intrusion detection, and prevention) Experienced in network management and testing (DWDM, optical fiber, wireless) Experienced in various WAN protocols Ability to stand, bend, and walk for long periods of time Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Cisco Certified Network Professional, Cisco Certified Design Professional or equivalent PREFERRED ENTRANCE QUALIFICATIONS (In Addition To Above) Familiarity with next generation technologies including but not limited to MetroE, DWDM, FFx, IP/MPLS, IPv6, and wireless Hands-on experience with Ciena, Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, and HP switches and routers
