Job description: We are seeking a skilled and versatile Network Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in supporting technical products, troubleshooting issues, and working in secure facilities. This role requires a broad knowledge base in systems administration, network administration, and infrastructure management, with a particular focus on Linux environments. The Network Engineer will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of servers, switches, and other critical hardware components while providing high-level support to customers and internal teams. Key Responsibilities Provide technical support for a range of hardware and software systems, with a focus on servers, switches, and tapping infrastructure. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across various environments, including Linux-based systems. Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software in a secure, controlled facility environment. Serve as a technical "jack of all trades," offering cross-functional support across different areas of IT infrastructure and systems. Relay customer feedback and bugs to product development and engineering teams for continuous improvement. Perform regular system updates, software upgrades, and patches to ensure systems remain secure and operational. Monitor system performance and address issues as they arise to minimize downtime and maintain high availability. Assist in maintaining documentation for technical processes, installation procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Collaborate with other team members, providing technical expertise and insight to resolve complex issues. Ensure compliance with security protocols and best practices in all tasks performed within secured facilities. Provide support in maintaining system integrity, security, and uptime for all infrastructure-related services. Required Qualifications Top Secret Clearance Required. 3-5 years of experience in a technical support or system administration role. Strong knowledge of server management, network switches, and tapping infrastructure. Proficient in Linux systems administration and troubleshooting. Hands-on experience with hardware installation and configuration in a secured facility environment. Familiarity with system monitoring, logging tools, and diagnostic utilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities. Solid understanding of network protocols, system security, and troubleshooting methodologies. Experience in software upgrades, patch management, and system optimization. Strong communication skills, including the ability to relay technical issues to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a collaborative setting. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with specialized equipment, such as high-availability systems or secure hardware. Familiarity with various monitoring tools, ticketing systems, and IT support platforms. Certifications in relevant areas such as Linux, Networking (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA), and System Administration (e.g., RHCSA, MCSE). Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with hardware installation and troubleshooting. Ability to work in a secured facility, following all safety and security protocols.
