Pay Rate: $45-$55/hr Overvie wWe are seeking a hands-on Network Deployment Engineer to support a large-scale End-of-Support (EOS) hardware replacement program. This role focuses on executing remote network cutovers, performing failover activities, and validating network behavior during maintenance windows. The engineer will work closely with lead engineers and follow detailed procedures to ensure seamless transitions with no impact to live network traffic . Key Responsibilitie sExecute remote network device swaps as part of an EOS hardware replacement progra mPerform command-line execution on network devices (primarily Cisco; exposure to Juniper is emerging )Drive traffic failover activities, ensuring live traffic is safely rerouted prior to device remova lPerform validation checks before, during, and after cutover using internal tools and command-line output sExecute detailed Method of Procedures (MOPs) with precision during maintenance window sConduct device health checks and confirm readiness prior to cutove rGracefully decommission legacy hardware by executing shutdown and failover procedure sBring new devices online, validate configurations, and confirm network stability post-implementatio nTroubleshoot issues in real time during cutovers, escalating to lead engineers as neede dPartner with onsite technicians who perform the physical installation while driving all remote engineering executio n Day-to-Day Wor kReview and interpret MOPs to understand each deployment step prior to executio nExecute configuration and validation commands on Cisco (and eventually Juniper) device sMonitor failover behavior and confirm routing and traffic continuit yUse internal validation tools along with CLI outputs to confirm network integrit yDocument validation outcomes and escalate issues through defined escalation path s Required Qualification sHands-on experience executing network changes in production environment sStrong experience working with Cisco routers and switches via CL IExperience performing failover activities and validating network behavior post-chang eAbility to read, interpret, and precisely execute Method of Procedures (MOPs )Proven ability to troubleshoot issues in real time under tight maintenance window sStrong understanding of network fundamentals (routing, traffic flow, failover concepts ) Preferred Qualification sExperience with Juniper network devices or willingness to ramp quickl yExperience supporting large-scale hardware refresh or deployment program sExperience working in telecom or other high-availability environment sFamiliarity with internal or custom validation tool s Additional Detail sMajority of work will occur during scheduled maintenance windows (typically overnight, aligned to regional time zones )Initial ramp may include some daytime work before transitioning fully to night-based executio nWork is highly hands-on and execution-focused, with limited automatio nCollaboration required across multi-vendor teams and internal stakeholder s Show more Show less
