Network Engineer Location: Augusta, GA (Hybrid/Onsite) Type: Contract / Contract-to-Hire (3-6 months, with potential for permanent conversion) Position Summary Our client, a large enterprise organization, is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, support, and secure network infrastructure across multiple locations. The ideal candidate brings strong networking expertise and advanced troubleshooting skills in complex enterprise environments. Responsibilities Configure, maintain, and support enterprise LAN/WAN environments Deploy and manage switches, routers, wireless access points, firewalls, and related infrastructure Troubleshoot complex network issues; perform root cause analysis and corrective action Configure firewall policies, access controls, and monitor network traffic/security events Coordinate with ISPs, telecom providers, and third-party vendors Maintain network documentation, diagrams, asset inventories, and configuration records Support infrastructure projects, upgrades, and migrations Partner with sysadmins, application, and cybersecurity teams on integration Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend architecture improvements Required Qualifications Bachelor's in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience) 5+ years supporting/administering enterprise networks Strong knowledge of routing, switching, TCP/IP, VLANs, wireless, and network security Experience with firewalls, access controls, and security best practices Strong documentation and communication skills; able to work independently and cross-functionally Preferred Qualifications Cisco networking experience (switching/routing) Enterprise wireless and firewall administration experience Network monitoring/performance tools experience Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, Network+, Security+, or similar Experience supporting large, multi-site environments Ideal Candidate: Analytical, customer-focused, collaborative, and a continuous learner who stays current on networking trends — looking for a long-term opportunity with a large enterprise environment.
