Network Engineer - Contract to Hire - no C2C inquiries Position Overview Our client is seeking a Network Engineer to manage, maintain, and optimize enterprise network infrastructure across multiple locations. This role is responsible for implementing network solutions, troubleshooting complex issues, improving performance, and supporting ongoing infrastructure and security initiatives. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with hands-on experience in enterprise networking and a proactive approach to problem solving. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and support enterprise LAN/WAN, VPN, firewall, SD-WAN, and cloud networking environments. Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, telephone systems, and related network infrastructure. Troubleshoot and resolve advanced Tier II/III network issues, escalating when appropriate. Monitor network performance, identify improvements, and implement best practices. Support network security initiatives and ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards. Create and maintain network documentation and procedures. Collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors on network projects and support. Research and recommend new technologies to improve performance and efficiency. Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance. Participate in an on-call rotation and travel to remote sites as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 5+ years of network engineering experience. Experience configuring and supporting enterprise routers, switches, firewalls, SD-WAN, VPNs, and cloud networking. Strong hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking platforms. Experience with network monitoring and security tools. Excellent troubleshooting, communication, organizational, and project management skills. Relevant networking certifications (CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or equivalent) preferred. Knowledge of ITIL 4 practices is a plus. Valid driver's license required.
