About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PHP Backend Developer to join GrabJobs’ dynamic team. In this fully remote position, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust backend systems that serve as the backbone of our platform. You will collaborate closely with front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to create scalable, secure, and efficient backend solutions that support our innovative recruitment platform. Your contributions will directly impact the user experience by ensuring the reliability and performance of our services, enabling us to meet the evolving needs of our global client base. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess over five years of professional backend development experience, with at least three years specializing in PHP. You should demonstrate a strong understanding of MySQL database design, optimization, and management. Experience working with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, is essential, along with a solid grasp of deploying and maintaining applications in cloud environments. Candidates should have excellent problem-solving skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively. Additional familiarity with scripting languages like Python or Ruby on Rails is a plus, as is experience mentoring junior developers and taking ownership of complex projects. Responsibilities Design and develop scalable backend services, RESTful APIs, and manage databases using PHP and MySQL, ensuring high performance and reliability. Deploy applications on AWS infrastructure, including EC2, RDS, Lambda, and S3, while implementing CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployment processes. Contribute to architectural decisions and develop technical strategies to enhance system performance and security. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices. Optimize database schemas and queries to improve system efficiency, identify bottlenecks in high-traffic environments, and implement solutions. Develop comprehensive unit tests, debug issues, and troubleshoot problems in both production and development settings. Ensure security best practices are followed by implementing secure coding standards and conducting regular security assessments. Participate in code reviews, maintain version control using Git, and create detailed technical documentation. Collaborate cross-functionally with frontend developers, DevOps teams, and product managers to deliver integrated solutions. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending architectural improvements to support scalable growth.
