Eastern Rural Zone has one (1) full-time Obstetrician/Gynecologist position available at Carbonear General Hospital in Carbonear, NL.The OBS/GYN department at Carbonear General Hospital is comprised of three (3) full-time specialists accountable for the provision of comprehensive health care services to patients. The successful candidate will share 24-hour on-call services equitably among the OBS/GYN team.The hospital has 70 acute care beds with a 6-bed ICU. Specialty services include Anesthesia, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, Pediatrics, Family Medicine (Hospitalist), and 24-hour Emergency coverage. Further supportive services include 24-hour diagnostic imaging and laboratory services, physiotherapy, respiratory therapy, chemotherapy, pharmacy, dialysis, ICU/Cardiac, and palliative care. Visiting services for ophthalmology and urology are also available.Work EnvironmentCarbonear is a beautiful rural town approximately 100 kilometres outside of St. John's, serving around 50,000 people in the Rural Avalon Region.
