Eastern Rural Zone invites applications for a permanent full-time Obstetrician/Gynecologist within the Child and Women's Health Program at Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville, NL.The successful candidate will work collaboratively with family physicians and other specialists to provide a multidisciplinary approach to patients in clinic settings, consultations, inpatient care, surgical services, and on-call coverage. Outpatient assessments take place at Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital and 5 Coish Place, with space shared with other specialists. Consultations from the Emergency Department, family medicine community physicians, and other primary health care providers can be expected. On-call including holidays and weekends is shared equitably among site Obstetricians/Gynecologists.Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital provides services to a catchment area of approximately 20,000 people. The hospital has 41 acute care beds including palliative care, medical/surgical, obstetrics, pediatric, and ICU beds, as well as 9 ER beds and 44 long-term care beds. Services include anesthesia, chemotherapy, family practice, general surgery, gynecology, obstetrics, ICU/Cardiac, internal medicine, laboratory, palliative care, pathology, pediatrics, psychiatry, radiology, respiratory therapy, ultrasonography, and 24-hour emergency (Category A). Visiting clinics include neurology and ophthalmology.Work EnvironmentClarenville is a vibrant service centre in eastern Newfoundland offering an exceptional quality of life.
