About the Role We are seeking a Principal Mobile Engineer to own the TaxAct mobile experience across iOS and Android. This is a high-impact individual contributor role responsible for the architecture, development, and long-term evolution of our mobile platform, including authentication, biometrics, secure storage, notifications, deep linking, performance, device integrations, and app store releases. While much of the TaxAct experience is web-based, the mobile application is a critical customer touchpoint. You'll serve as the technical leader for mobile strategy and execution, partnering closely with engineering, product, design, security, and platform teams. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong technical leadership, production coding, and architectural decision-making. Responsibilities Own the architecture, design, and delivery of the TaxAct mobile application across iOS and Android. Lead mobile platform capabilities including authentication, biometrics, secure storage, notifications, deep linking, device integrations, and performance optimization. Drive platform quality, reliability, security, and maintainability. Partner cross-functionally to deliver scalable mobile solutions and guide technical direction. Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate implementation, testing, debugging, and documentation while ensuring production-quality code. Qualifications 8+ years of software engineering experience, including building and operating production mobile applications. Significant experience with Flutter and Dart. Strong understanding of native iOS and Android capabilities, including authentication, biometrics, secure storage, notifications, deep linking, and device APIs. Experience integrating mobile applications with APIs, backend services, identity providers, WebViews, and third-party platforms. Proven experience owning large mobile applications from architecture through production and ongoing support. Experience using AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity. Preferred Skills Experience with authentication, identity, biometrics, and secure session management. Background in regulated industries such as fintech, tax, healthcare, or financial services. Experience with analytics, experimentation, crash reporting, observability, and performance monitoring. Experience building reusable mobile frameworks or platform capabilities.
