The Ministry of Community Safety is seeking a Probation Officer/Community Youth Worker to join Community Corrections in Creighton. This permanent full-time opportunity offers a rewarding and fast-paced environment supporting youth and adult offenders through case management, supervision, rehabilitation, and community-based interventions. Relocation assistance may be available for eligible candidates. The ministry is looking for accountable, adaptable, collaborative, and client-focused individuals committed to public service excellence. Successful candidates must be able to engage resistant individuals, exercise sound judgment, complete assessments, and develop effective intervention plans while working with diverse clients and community partners. Candidates must possess a degree or a minimum two-year diploma in a related field such as Correctional Studies, Justice Studies, Community and Justice Services, Social Work, or Mental Health. Knowledge of criminal behaviour, addictions, domestic violence, mental health, disabilities, abuse and neglect dynamics, family relationships, systemic barriers, and cognitive behavioural intervention approaches is required. Strong communication, critical thinking, assessment, case management, documentation, and relationship-building skills are essential. Travel, flexible hours, and a valid driver's licence are required. Responsibilities include preparing court reports, conducting intake interviews and risk assessments, developing case plans, maintaining client records, delivering programming and interventions, conducting home visits, implementing risk management strategies, and collaborating with community agencies and government partners to support offender rehabilitation and community safety.
