The Mission Finch was founded by two friends (Nino & Steph) to solve a personal problem: making self-care actually stick. Today, we’ve helped 40 million people navigate their life and mental health journeys. We are a Public Benefit Corporation (PBC) . We are profitable, growing responsibly, and answer only to our users not the traditional VC treadmill. We’re a "small but mighty" team of 27, and we’re looking for our 8th engineer to help us redefine what a wellness app can be. You’ll be designing playful, gamified experiences that solve deeply human problems. As the 8th engineer, you aren't a cog in a machine. You are a cornerstone of our culture, an architect of our technical norms, and a direct partner to the founders. What You’ll Do End-to-End Ownership: From ideation to launch, you’ll own the full lifecycle of features that impact millions of lives. Architect the Future: Define the tools and standards for a high-performing team. Cross-Pollinate: Work daily with animators, character designers, and product leads to blend tech with art. Problem You'll Work On How do we turn a mobile device from a source of anxiety into a tool for mental resilience? How do we reimagine social support in a way that feels safe and sustainable? How do we bring art and technology in a way that creates delight and bring people together? How do we scale a generalizable platform of CBT and mental health tools for everyone? Who You Are 4+ Years Experience: You’ve built and shipped high-quality consumer products (Mobile/Full-stack). Builders at heart: You find joy and energy in continuous tinkering and building. Product-First Mindset: You don't just write code; you think about the user’s emotional journey. You understand the "why" behind the "what." Bias for Action: You thrive in fast-paced, high-autonomy environments. You prefer "derisking" over "over-documenting." Elegant Solver: You enjoy taking messy, ambiguous problems and distilling them into clean, maintainable APIs and systems.
