Technical Product Manager III – Retail FinTech (Contract-to-Hire) New York, NY | Washington D.C. | Pittsburgh, PA | Lake Mary, FL | Hybrid - 4 days onsite/week We are seeking a senior Technical Product Manager to support a high-profile government initiative within our leading wealth management client. This role differs from traditional institutional banking product management positions and is focused on large-scale retail financial applications, technical oversight, and cross-functional leadership. The ideal candidate brings a blend of product strategy, technical acumen, and experience operating in highly regulated environments while partnering with both internal teams and external vendors. Key Responsibilities Serve as a senior product leader providing horizontal oversight across multiple product pods and initiatives. Drive product execution and alignment across complex, data-intensive financial technology programs. Partner closely with engineering teams to understand architecture, scalability, and implementation decisions across web, iOS, and Android platforms. Support delivery efforts spanning both traditional waterfall and modern Agile methodologies. Provide product management expertise for internally developed solutions while overseeing work delivered by external vendors. Participate in Agile ceremonies and governance activities, offering guidance and oversight without directly leading ceremonies. Evaluate technical solutions, challenge assumptions when appropriate, and ensure alignment with broader retail product strategies. Communicate product vision, priorities, and roadmaps through clear and compelling narratives for both technical and business audiences. Influence stakeholders and confidently provide objective guidance to senior leadership. Ensure product delivery complies with regulatory, governance, and external engagement requirements. Required Qualifications 5+ years of Product Management experience supporting complex technology initiatives. Experience with large-scale, high-volume consumer applications and data-intensive platforms. Strong understanding of technical architecture, scalability, and software delivery processes. Ability to operate across both Agile and waterfall environments. Experience collaborating with engineering teams and overseeing third-party vendor deliverables. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across multiple teams. Proven ability to act as a "utility player," moving across initiatives and providing leadership where needed. Preferred Experience Retail fintech, brokerage, trading, or wealth management platforms with large consumer user bases. Mobile ecosystem experience supporting iOS, Android, and web applications. Knowledge of retail financial services and digital customer experiences. Experience with product roadmaps, technical implementation, and cross-functional delivery. Familiarity with highly regulated environments and financial application governance. Exposure to SEC, FINRA, and FinCEN requirements. Experience with Silicon Valley-style product delivery practices and modern product operating models. Ability to oversee external vendors and ensure successful delivery of strategic initiatives. Healthcare or other high-scale digital platform experience may be considered if accompanied by strong technical product management expertise.
