ROLE QA ENGINEER We can connect you to an individual with a specific skill set, manage capacity across a team, or provide in-house expertise to deliver your project. Experis has an immediate need for QUALITY ASSURANCE (QA) ENGINEER to support our RETIREMENT PLAN SOLUTION client REMOTE (India) reporting to Philadelphia, PA 19103. QA Engineer (Offshore) India What They're Building The team supports multiple workstreams across their retirement platform. Development is organized into Agile teams, with QA embedded throughout the SDLC. This is a fast-paced environment where QA partners closely with developers and business analysts. What They're Really Looking For This is not a "follow the test script" QA position. They want someone who can think critically, analyze requirements, and identify gaps before testing even begins. Candidates should be comfortable creating their own test scenarios rather than relying on pre-written test cases. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are just as important as hands-on testing experience. Day-to-day expectations Review user stories and technical tickets before development begins. Identify unclear or incomplete requirements and work with Business Analysts and Developers to improve them. Design and execute manual test cases. Validate backend data using SQL. Test enhancements, bug fixes, and new functionality. Participate in Agile ceremonies and release planning. Help reproduce issues reported by clients. Recommend improvements to both the application and the testing approach. Technical environment Primarily manual QA with strong SQL skills. White Box and/or Grey Box testing experience is preferred. Experience testing Microsoft-based applications is beneficial. Selenium or Mabl automation experience is a plus but not required. Financial Services or Retirement (401(k)/403(b)/ERISA) experience is highly required. Ideal candidate profile 5+ years of Software QA experience. Comfortable working independently with minimal direction. Doesn't wait for someone else to define every test case. Able to read requirements, understand the business logic, and determine what should be tested. Will proactively ask questions and challenge unclear requirements. Strong communicator who collaborates well with developers, Business Analysts, and other QA team members. Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a smaller company where QA also contributes analytical thinking and requirement validation. Soft Skills That Stood Out During The Intake Highly proactive. Curious and solution-oriented. Strong ownership mentality. Comfortable working in a collaborative, team-first environment. Able to think beyond simply executing assigned work. The hiring managers repeatedly emphasized that they're looking for someone who can think like an analyst in addition to being a QA Engineer. Candidates who only execute predefined test cases without questioning requirements or identifying additional test scenarios are unlikely to be a good fit.
