JOB DESCRIPTION Community Counsellor Clinical Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor Grid level 16 Position Summary Provides clinical counselling services to individuals and families through assessment, goal-setting, and the development and implementation of therapeutic interventions. This position supports the emotional, psychological, and behavioural well-being of clients by delivering person-centred, trauma-informed, and strengths-based counselling. Key Responsibilities * Conducts comprehensive clinical assessments to identify client needs, risks, and strengths, in collaboration with caregivers and other service providers when appropriate. * Identifies presenting concerns and underlying issues contributing to emotional, social, psychological, or behavioural challenges. * Develops and implements short-term therapeutic plans aligned with client goals and needs. * Provides individual counselling using evidence-informed techniques appropriate to the client?s circumstances. * Provides consultation and psychoeducation to families and caregivers as appropriate. * Monitors client progress and evaluates therapeutic outcomes, adjusting treatment plans as needed. * Maintains up-to-date knowledge of community resources and provides referrals to appropriate services as required. * Provides clinical supervision, consultation, and case guidance to interns, or other designated clinical staff, as required. * Collaborates with external professionals involved in client care (e.g., social workers, probation officers, school counsellors). * Maintains accurate clinical documentation, including electronic records of treatment duration, intervention type, and client outcomes. * Supports supervisees in clinical assessment, treatment planning, risk assessment, ethical decision-making, documentation, and appropriate referral or discharge planning. * Reviews clinical work with supervisees to support safe, ethical, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive service delivery. * Provides guidance on complex clinical situations, including safety concerns, high-risk presentations, family conflict, substance use, trauma, and situations involving child protection or other mandated reporting obligations. * Documents clinical supervision activities in accordance with agency procedures, professional standards, and program requirements. * Prepares and submits reports as required by the program. * Participates in community engagement, prevention, and public education activities as required. * Performs other related duties as required. Required Qualifications Education and Registration: * Master?s degree in Counselling Psychology or a related field. * Registration with BCACC as an RCC required. * Registration with BCACC as an RCC-ACS required or able to register within 6 months of hire date. * Registration with Crime Victim?s Assistance Program, First Nation?s Health Authority, and ICBC or be able to register within the first 3 months of hire date. Experience: * Minimum of 5 years of recent clinical counselling experience. * Minimum of 2 years of clinical supervision experience. * Experience providing individual, couples, and/or family therapy using a variety of treatment modalities.
