Description
We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide comprehensive respiratory care services for patients with cardiopulmonary conditions across acute care settings. The RRT will be responsible for administering respiratory therapies, managing ventilators, assisting with airway procedures, conducting patient assessments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This role requires strong critical care experience, ventilator management expertise, and the flexibility to support various patient care units. Key Responsibilities Assess, treat, and monitor patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders. Administer respiratory therapy treatments and diagnostic procedures as prescribed by physicians. Perform ventilator setup, monitoring, troubleshooting, and management. Assist with intubations and airway management procedures. Evaluate patient respiratory status and recommend appropriate therapeutic interventions. Monitor patient response to treatment and modify care plans as needed. Provide patient and caregiver education regarding respiratory conditions, treatments, and equipment use. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care. Respond to respiratory emergencies and support critical care interventions. Float as needed to adult ICU, intermediate care, and medical-surgical patient care areas. Ensure compliance with departmental policies, infection prevention standards, and patient safety protocols. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development activities. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program. Active and valid New Jersey Respiratory Care License required. Current NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Certification required. Current BLS (AHA), ACLS, and PALS certifications required. Minimum one (1) year of recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist required. Minimum one (1) year of ICU experience required. Previous ventilator management experience required. Experience caring for critically ill adult patients in an acute care setting. Willingness to float to Adult ICU, Intermediate Care, and Medical-Surgical units as needed. Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy practices, cardiopulmonary assessment, and critical care protocols. Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient education skills.
