Results Technician II

Job Summary Under general supervision, the Results Technician II performs sub-professional engineering office and field work involving monitoring, data collecting and organizing of the Authority's generating and water production facilities. Because the Authority has a responsibility to serve the public 24 hours per day, an employee in this class is expected to work overtime as conditions demand; and may be call in on short notice during power outages and other emergencies. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Establishes and maintains periodic reports to include production reports, unit performances, unit efficiencies, outage reports and other charts and reports on the operating equipment Assists in engineering assignments associated with research, design or development and manufacture of specific parts, components or minor phases of an engineering project Translates technical guidance received from the Operations manager, Plant Superintendent and supervisors into usable engineering data applicable to the particular assignment. Evaluates operations data from the units and identifies deviations from the normal operation parameters; makes the necessary work order to have corrective action taken Gathers and correlates basic engineering data Maintains technical and administrative records Performs all types of work associated with monitoring and testing power plant performance Perform other related tasks as assigned Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of Federal and local regulatory agencies' requirements Knowledge of electricity, electrical and mechanical mathematics Knowledge of chemistry Thorough knowledge of operations and maintenance practices and standards Familiarization with desalination theory and electrical power plant theory Ability to understand and prepare line construction drawings and diagrams Ability to prepare work orders Ability to complete computation using electrical and mechanical formulas and equations Ability to interpret drawings and plans Ability to use advanced computer software Ability to understand and carry through oral and written work assignments Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with constructors, co-workers and all others contacted during the course of work Education & Experience Graduation from an accredited institution with an Associate of Science degree in mechanical or electrical engineering and two (2) years of experience in power plant operations.
