PYMNTS Senior Developer About Us PYMNTS is a recognized global leader in data, news, and insights on innovation in payments and the platforms powering the connected economy. Position Overview We are seeking a Senior Developer with 3-5+ years of experience, with a strong understanding of WordPress development and React. You'll work across our main WordPress site (pymnts.com, on a managed WordPress hosting platform) as well as a mix of internal tools and standalone React/Next.js applications we build for partners, such as interactive calculators, dynamic data reports, and survey-driven tools. You should be comfortable working alongside AI coding tools (e.g. Claude Code, Codex) as part of your daily workflow, not just for boilerplate, but for planning changes, navigating unfamiliar codebases, and reviewing generated code critically before it ships. Other technologies that we use, and you should either know about or be interested in learning, include: WordPress (theming, custom post types, plugins) on a managed hosting platform React TypeScript Next.js Node.js Apache ECharts GitHub Web APIs Web Accessibility Figma Third-party platform integrations (e.g. video hosting/streaming platforms, marketing automation tools) What You'll Do Build and maintain features on our WordPress site, as well as separate React/Next.js applications and internal tools (e.g. a Next.js-based publishing platform, a Node.js app for exporting and reviewing leads, and partner-facing projects for some of the biggest names in the payments industry) Turn design mockups (Figma) into accessible, responsive interfaces Work with structured data and translations to power dynamic reports, calculators, and dashboards Work with third-party platforms we integrate with, such as our video hosting provider for PYMNTS TV Collaborate with designers, editorial, and product stakeholders in a fully remote, async-friendly environment Use LLM-based coding tools to move faster, while staying accountable for the correctness and quality of the code you ship What We're Looking For 3-5+ years of professional experience with WordPress and React Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially in a remote setting Practical, hands-on experience using AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Codex, or similar) in a real development workflow Strong work ethic and good judgment about when to trust AI-generated code and when to slow down Interest in learning new technologies We Offer Competitive Salary Fully remote work Collaborative work environment This position requires 6 hours of overlap with Eastern Time Zone.
