Senior Scrum Master

Senior Scrum Master Location: Remote (US) | Type: Contract | Experience: 5+ years About the Role You'll own the delivery rhythm for one or more product squads building enterprise software from the ground up. That means running the ceremonies, yes, but the real work is keeping smart engineers and designers unblocked, protecting their focus, and making sure every sprint actually moves the product forward. This is for a crafts-based digital product studio that designs and ships custom software embedded with emerging AI models, often for operationally complex, traditionally underserved industries. The teams are small, senior, and high-trust, so the Scrum Master here is a facilitator and coach, not a status-report machine. If you've worked in places where "agile" turned into ceremony for ceremony's sake, this is the opposite. The bar is real delivery, and you'll have the room to run things the way they should be run. What You'll Do Facilitate sprint planning, daily standups, reviews, and retros across one or two product squads Partner with product owners to keep the backlog refined, prioritized, and ready before planning Surface and clear impediments quickly, whether that's a blocked dependency, an unclear requirement, or a noisy stakeholder Track velocity, cycle time, and other delivery signals, then use them to coach the team rather than police it Manage cross-team dependencies so squads aren't waiting on each other mid-sprint Keep distributed teammates genuinely in sync across time zones, since this role runs remote Coach the team toward better agile habits and a healthier continuous-improvement loop Give engineering and design leadership a clear, honest read on delivery health and risk Qualifications 5+ years as a Scrum Master or Agile delivery lead, ideally in a product studio, consultancy, or software delivery environment A scrum or agile certification (CSM, PSM, SAFe, or equivalent), or the hands-on track record to back it up Comfort running multiple squads at once without dropping the thread on either Strong command of Jira (or similar) and the delivery metrics that actually matter Experience facilitating fully remote teams and keeping them aligned without face-to-face time The judgment to flex the framework to fit the team, not the other way around Calm, direct communication with engineers, designers, product owners, and clients alike Why Join Us You'd be joining a team that treats software as a craft and holds a high bar for the work, with senior people who care about doing it well.
