Senior Software Engineer - Android

Senior Software Engineer, Mobile (Android) Location: Remote A growing technology company is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Mobile to join its product engineering team, with a primary focus on Android development. This role will help design, build, and scale high-quality mobile experiences used by a broad and growing customer base. The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth, a product mindset, and the ability to contribute across the full mobile development lifecycle. In this role, you will collaborate with product, design, and backend engineering teams to deliver performant, reliable, and user-friendly Android applications. You will help shape architecture, improve code quality, and drive technical decisions that support long-term scalability and maintainability. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain Android applications with a focus on performance, reliability, and user experience Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, scope, and deliver mobile features Contribute to mobile architecture, technical strategy, and engineering best practices Write clean, maintainable, and testable code using modern Android development patterns Improve app stability, monitoring, and release processes Participate in code reviews, mentor other engineers, and support team technical growth Work closely with backend teams to integrate APIs and mobile services Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the mobile stack Qualifications 6+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong focus on mobile development 4+ years of hands-on Android development experience Deep experience with Kotlin and modern Android frameworks Strong understanding of Android architecture, app performance, debugging, and testing Experience building consumer-facing or enterprise mobile applications at scale Familiarity with REST APIs, mobile data handling, and offline-first patterns Experience working in agile product development environments Strong communication skills and the ability to influence technical direction Preferred Experience with Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, and modern Android architecture components Familiarity with CI/CD, mobile release management, and app store deployment Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical initiatives
