Senior/Staff Backend Engineer – Travel Tech | New York City | Hybrid | $170k–$225K We're partnering exclusively with a fast-growing, Series C-funded travel tech company based in NYC, to find a Senior or Staff Backend Engineer to join their expanding engineering team. This is a genuine opportunity to join a well-backed, mission-driven startup that's modernising a $100B+ industry The Role You'll be working across a complex, high-impact product, booking systems, content and supplier integrations, and internal infrastructure. This isn't a siloed role; you'll own epics end to end, collaborate closely with product and design, and have a real say in architectural decisions. What They're Looking For 5+ years of backend web development experience 3+ years with Python (Django, Flask or similar) Strong API design and distributed systems knowledge Experience with relational databases and ORMs AWS and/or Kubernetes experience a plus Someone who communicates well, takes ownership, and has an entrepreneurial mindset Compensation & Benefits $170k–$225K base + equity (level dependent ) Unlimited PTO Full health, dental and vision coverage 401k with company match Commuter benefits
