Senior Technical Architect 📍 Orange County, CA | 🏢 100% Onsite | ⏱ Full-Time Key Highlights 💡 Lead the architecture of a secure, scalable hybrid infrastructure across cloud and on-prem environments 🔐 Design systems aligned with CJIS, NIST, and public-sector security standards 🤝 Serve as a senior technical leader and mentor within a mission-critical IT environment Position Overview We are seeking a Senior Technical Architect to provide on-site leadership and hands-on expertise supporting a complex, hybrid infrastructure environment within a public-sector organization. This role will serve as a senior-level technical authority, responsible for architecture, modernization strategy, security design, and operational excellence across cloud and on-prem platforms. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure operations, and security compliance , and thrives in environments requiring high availability, resilience, and strict regulatory adherence. This is a full-time, 100% onsite role in Orange County, California . Key Responsibilities Architecture & Strategic Planning Lead the technical architecture of a secure, resilient, and scalable hybrid environment spanning Azure, AWS, and on-premises infrastructure Define integration strategies between legacy systems and cloud-based workloads Develop infrastructure standards, policies, and lifecycle strategies to support long-term modernization Infrastructure Operations & Subject Matter Expertise Serve as the senior technical SME (Level 4) for infrastructure, virtualization, networking, and cloud services Provide hands-on, on-site leadership for system implementation, maintenance, and performance optimization Support after-hours work and overtime as required during critical cutovers, incidents, or emergency response scenarios Act as a technical mentor to IT staff, supporting knowledge transfer and capability development Mentor team members on Microsoft 365, Intune, Azure Backup, and Endpoint Manager Security & Compliance Design and oversee secure architectures compliant with CJIS, NIST, and state/local law-enforcement standards Architect and manage identity systems including: Active Directory & Azure AD / Entra ID AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) Oversee Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) to ensure encryption, access control, auditability, and secure connectivity across environments Cloud Integration & Migration Guide phased migrations of infrastructure workloads to cloud platforms Architect hybrid connectivity solutions including VPN, SD-WAN, ExpressRoute, and Direct Connect Ensure reliable integration with mission-critical and public safety systems Utilize Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, PowerShell, and CloudFormation to automate deployments Documentation, Training & Support Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including: Architecture diagrams SOPs and runbooks Security and recovery plans Conduct formal and informal technical training and knowledge-transfer sessions Create and maintain compliance documentation to support internal and third-party audits Additional Duties Perform other related duties as required to support operational and technical objectives Required Qualifications 8+ years of experience in infrastructure, systems, or cloud architecture Strong hands-on expertise with Azure and AWS in hybrid environments Experience designing and operating systems in high-security, regulated environments Deep knowledge of identity management, networking, virtualization, and security controls Experience supporting CJIS-compliant or law-enforcement IT environments (highly preferred) Ability to work full-time onsite in Orange County, CA Why This Role This is a high-impact opportunity to serve as a senior technical leader within a mission-critical public-sector environment, where architecture, security, and reliability directly support public safety operations.
